Bislett Throw

Bislett is designed by Hallgeir Homstvedt and takes its name from Oslo's historic Bislett Stadium. The pattern combines the architectural geometry of the stadium with a moiré effect, created when similar structures overlap at a slight offset. The resulting visual interference makes the woven surface appear to shift depending on the angle of the view. Designed by Hallgeir Homstvedt At the mill in Røros, they weave each wool throw from Norwegian lambswool, building the pattern directly into the textile. The jacquard construction allows colour and pattern to reverse from one side to the other, while brushing lifts the wool fibres to give the finished throw a softer, fuller surface. Røros Tweed has produced wool textiles in Røros since 1940, and the same material and weaving knowledge continues to inform how each throw is made today.
