THE FATTEST BASTARD YET APA is proud to introduce the Fat MAXX Self-Timing Muzzle Brake - a larger, harder-working evolution of the Gen 4 Fat Bastard, purpose-built for heavy PRS rifles, larger-diameter barrels, and larger-caliber cartridges. The Fat MAXX takes the proven five-port design of the Gen 4 Fat Bastard and scales it up in every meaningful way. Its larger body and internal manifold manage a greater volume of propellant gas, delivering maximum recoil reduction and exceptional rifle control when rifle weight and barrel diameter are not limiting factors. At 1.225 inches in diameter, 4.3 inches long, and approximately 11 ounces, the Fat MAXX is designed to blend naturally with the heavy-contour barrels commonly found on dedicated competition rifles and large-caliber precision platforms. The five oversized Bastard ports provide tremendous recoil reduction while maintaining the smoother, lower-frequency recoil impulse developed for our Gen 4 brakes. The result is a rifle that moves less, settles faster, and makes it easier to stay on target and spot impacts. The Fat MAXX also features our largest calibrated U.R.P. tunable top ports to date. These ports provide increased authority over muzzle rise, allowing the shooter to tune the brake to the rifle, cartridge, and shooting position for an exceptionally flat recoil path. This is not simply a Fat Bastard with a larger outside diameter. The entire design has been scaled to take full advantage of high-volume cartridges, heavy barrels, and full-size PRS rifle systems.
