🌺 Needle Felt Poppy Brooch Workshop in High Wycombe 🌺 ✨ Create a Beautiful Handmade Poppy for Remembrance ✨ 🗓️ Monday 2nd November 🕖 7:00 PM 📍 The Bricklayers Arms, High Street, Downley, High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, HP13 5XJ With Remembrance Sunday approaching, join us at The Bricklayers Arms for a relaxed evening learning how to create your own beautiful needle felt poppy brooch. Using soft wool fibres, you’ll learn how to shape, layer and felt individual petals before creating the centre and adding a brooch fastening, leaving you with a handmade poppy that can be worn for Remembrance or kept as a beautiful floral accessory. Choose traditional rich poppy reds and deep burgundy, or put your own twist on your flower with touches of pink, coral and orange. Absolutely no previous needle felting experience is needed – we’ll guide you through the whole process step by step. 🪡 What You’ll Learn During the workshop, we’ll show you how to: ✔️ Safely use a specialist felting needle ✔️ Shape loose wool fibres into individual petals ✔️ Blend colours to create depth and beautiful tonal variations ✔️ Layer and shape your petals into a three-dimensional flower ✔️ Create and embellish the centre of your poppy ✔️ Add finishing details and decorative fibres ✔️ Attach a brooch fastening ready to wear We’ll demonstrate each stage before you have a go, with plenty of help available throughout. ❤️ Traditional Red or Make It Your Own If you’d like to create a poppy to wear for Remembrance, you can keep yours traditionally red with a dark centre. Alternatively, take inspiration from our more colourful poppies and blend scarlet, crimson, berry, pink, coral and orange to create something completely unique. No two handmade flowers will be quite the same – which is exactly how we like them! ✨ Everything You Need is Included We’ll provide everything you need, including: ✔️ A selection of beautiful wool fibres ✔️ Felting needles ✔️ Felting mats ✔️ Brooch fastening ✔️ Decorative fibres and embellishments ✔️ All tools and materials ✔️ Step-by-step tuition ✔️ Friendly guidance throughout At the end of the evening, you’ll leave with your own handmade felt poppy brooch, ready to wear in the run-up to Remembrance Sunday or to enjoy throughout the year. 🪡 Never Needle Felted Before? No problem! This workshop is suitable for complete beginners, so you don’t need any previous sewing, felting or textile experience. Needle felting is wonderfully therapeutic – using a special barbed needle, you’ll gradually transform fluffy wool fibres into a beautifully shaped flower.
