18K Gold Garnet Earrings, Vintage Lever-Back, Eagle Head Hallmark

These pretty vintage garnet sleeper earrings glow like embers from a fire. The garnets are in excellent condition with no eye visible scratches or chips to the earrings. I love the style and cut of the earrings which mix a rose cut with a pear shape. The earrings close with a classically French early lever-back system in which the closure threads through the back of the ear and attaches to a rivet at the top of the earrings. It can take some getting used to at first but they hold securely and the hinges are strong. The earrings do not have a purity hallmark but do contain a maker's mark, which is typical for pieces weighing less than three grams. They have been acid tested for minimum 18k gold purity and sold as such from a reputable auction house.
