Utricularia nelumbifolia x reniformis
Utricularie are carnivorous and capture small organisms using aspiration traps called utriculi. Terrestrial species have small traps for protozoa and rotifers, while aquatic species have larger traps for Daphnia, nematodes, and small crustaceans.
- When the prey touches the hairs connected to the trap door, the trap opens and sucks in the prey along with surrounding water.
